| Yay, I'm now officially a resident of 1324 N. Main Street Apt 1. I moved in on Monday. Things have been prettty bleh. I've felt pretty lethargic and melancholy. Not debilitating. But annoying. The musical has picked up a bit, we had killer 4 hour rehearsals for the last 4 days. We opened tonight. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Especially considering how underprepared we seemed even yesterday. I finished with Bus driving training last week, and got my commercial license. Gonna start driving the bus by myself! Sarah doesn't come back till the 14th, next monday. I'm dying! Only 3 days! But 3 days of agony!

| So the basement flooded. The drain backed up, and we get rotten leaves and junk everywhere. I got to spend all day bailing water and cleaning, and now everything is piled up in the corner, in an even more unorganized mess. I wanted to get it organized today!
I finally got this G3 to boot Linux. The solution was so simple it took me 2 weeks to figure out. All i had to do was boot off of the initrd.img ramdisk with the boot option set to root=/dev/hda7, instead of booting directly off of /dev/hda7. Gah. Well, whatever. It's finishing installing now. And I'm content. Now I have more working computers.
They announced the companion who is going to replace Rose in Doctor Who. The funny thing is she just appeared as a minor character in Torchwood. A minor character who gets assimilated by the Cybermen, then killed by the Doctor as he shuts her off. Wehee. Not the first time an actor has been asked to come back to the series as a companion. Usually, the Doctor meets them as a minor character, and that character gets invited along, wanders into the TARDIS, gets abducted by aliens and left in the TARDIS, etc. But when Mary Tamm wanted to leave, her character, the Time Lord Romana, regenerates, and her final form is that of the princess character in the previous episode. A little less farfetched. But considering the human genetic code, the probability of similar features in distinctly different individuals is probably pretty good. I saw these two brothers the other day that were the spitting image of Charlie Parker...
Here's the BBC article. http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/cult/news/drwho/2006/07/05/33449.shtml
And yes, the last paragraph proves my immense nerd-ness.
| I got an apartment. Don't know when I'm going to move in, there is currently one empty master bedroom, which is claimed by the person who is moving in in August. One person moving out, also in August, and so i guess I'm taking his room. No idea. Been driving the bus a bunch. I've got 6 more drives to go before i'm finished with training. It's not too hard, and I think I'm getting the hang of it.

| wtf "This is the story of how I died"?!?!!? They never kill companions off. And especially not Rose. The Doctor is going to flip out. And they had a clip of Christopher Eccleston. Geez, I miss him. WHy'd they have to kill him off?!? (Not that I don't like David Tennant)
WTF!?!?!?! DALEKS!?!?!?! Shoot! I can't take much more of this. Why oh why, must the season finale not air till Saturday?
| I always seem to not write a blog, then reminisce about how i haven't
written in a while. BUt I haven't! It's been a whole semester. Jeeeeezz.
This semester went well, but really seemed to fly by. I just started to
get used to things and it's the summer already!! I don't particularly
care for summers. There isn't as much to do, I have no schedule, and
all my friends are gone! I miss everything and everyone that goes on
during the year, especially Sarah! She plays bassoon and is in Aerospace Engineering. she wants to be an astronaut.

We've been going out for a month now, starting just before school ended. So we've really only been with each other for two weeks, before she went back home to Ohio. We've talked on the phone and on IM, but it's still not the same. I want August to come faster! It's only 6 hours' drive to Cleveland, so I'm going to try and take some trips up there to visit.
I have tried to do stuff with my summer. I've been practicing a bit, but not as much as I'd like. I've been working on transcribing melodies from tunes, as well as solos. I don't have a job, but i've applied to drive the Blacksburg Transit, since I turned 20. (Oh, yeah, btw, I'm really old now!) This group in Blacksburg puts on a musical every summer, so I'm going to play sax in the orchestra. I'm on Reed 1, which is alto, soprano, 4th clarinet, flute and picolo. Somebody else is playing the flute and picolo parts. The soprano sax is all nasally and icky, so I've got to practice it to make it sound better. We don't actually get the music till June 10th. All in all it's not too bad. I've had some other things happen, but the summer really hasn't been that interesting. It should get better. I'm resolved to not let this summer fizzle like every other summer. Getting out of bed is difficult, I don't feel motivated to. The little death of sleep is sooo peaceful. Hates it! It's just getting into the rhythm of things, and I'll be fine. Then it will be time to start school again, and have to redo my whole routine. Bah I just decided to try and add a double major in Electrical Engineering. My parents have told me that it would suit me, and I think so as well. I love that sort of thing, and it would mesh well with my music technology and radio stuff i've been working on. The real problem is the workloaad, but I've been monkeying with it. With spacing it out, I can graduate in 4 more years (class of 2009) with two majors, and only take 19 credits a semester. I want to make sure that my music is my primary focus. Spending all my time on engineering homework is not what I want, but Sarah is encouraging me. She's doubling in Music and engineering, albeit a different flavor, but she manages. I think I can get away with doing lots of things. The problem is I want to learn everything! If I just take things slow, taking time to enjoy them, it will all turn out all right.
